Iran, Ecuador presidents begin talks

(IRNA) - Visiting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Ecuadorian counterpart, Rafael Correa, began official talks here Monday.

President Ahmadinejad, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Quito, Ecuador, Sunday night on the last leg of a three-nation Latin American tour which has already taken him to Venezuela and Nicaragua, reports Trend.

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki is accompanying Ahmadinejad in this Latin American tour.

The Iranian president, during his day-long visit in Caracas, Venezuela, Saturday met and conferred with President Hugo Chavez.

He arrived in Managua, Nicaragua, Sunday morning and held talks with newly elected President Daniel Ortega.
