Iran Fisheries Organization plans to increase its annual production of caviar to 10 tons by 2022, an agricultural official said.
Hassan Salehi, an Iranian deputy agriculture minister, has said that the organization will also make efforts to produce 10,000 tons of sturgeon meat, IRNA news agency reported.
The official forecasted that the country would produce 4,000 tons of caviar over the current Iranian year (starting March 20).
According to the official, the country produced 1.7 million tons of aquatic over the last Iranian year. In the meantime, the country exported over 103,000 tons of aquatic valued at $412 million.
