Iran’s steel exports up by 83%

Iran’s steel exports registered a rise by 83 percent in the first month of the current fiscal year (March 20-April 20), the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), said May 10.

Iranian steel producers exported 359,573 tons of steel ingots and various steel products in the one-month period. The figure was 196,193 tons in the same period of last fiscal year (March 20-April 20, 2016).

Khouzestan Steel Company ranked first among the Iranian steel exporter companies with 167,095 tons of exports, followed by Esfahan Steel Company (62,421 tons), Hormozgan Steel Company (52,000 tons) and Mobarakeh Steel company (50,669 tons).

Iran's non-oil exports (including gas condensates) reached $2.723 billion in revenues, during the first month of the current fiscal year, 9.4 percent less year-on-year.

The volume of the exported goods reached 8.062 million tones in the 1-month period, registering a fall by 1.48 percent.
