Iran’s industrial carpet output set to jump 50% by 2025

A recent regulation stipulates that Iran’s industrial carpet output should increase by 50 percent by 2025, Trend correspondent reported June 3.

In what follows, a summary of the regulation, issued by the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, for the textile industry has been given.

The annual output of industrially woven carpets is to increase from the current 90 million to 135 million cubic meters by 2025.

The annual cotton weaving output should increase from the current 190 thousand to 470 thousand tons by the set year.

The annual production of various types of cloth should increase from 300 thousand to 630 thousand tons. The numbers are the same for the clothing output.

Downstream petrochemical textile output should also increase from 1.125 million to 1.630 million tons per year.

The number of jobs directly created annually in the textile industry should increase from the current 300 thousand to 585 thousand jobs by the target year.

The annual export value of textile, clothing, leather, and shoe industries (excluding handmade carpet) should increase from $913 million now to $3 billion in 2025.
