Iran’s liquidity increases by 23%

Liquidity in Iran has exceeded 13,337.4 trillion rials (each 33,460 rials making one USD) by July 21.

The figure indicates a rise by 23.3 percent compared to the same period of last year, the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said in its latest monthly report released Sept. 14.

The banknotes and coins possessed by the population in Iran were worth 341.5 trillion rials by July 21, indicating a rise by 5.1 percent year-on-year.

The money volume increased by 14.4 percent year-on-year and amounted to 1, 595.1 trillion rials by July 21, while the near money stood at 11,742.3 trillion rials (24.6 percent more year-on-year).

Following the removal of international sanctions, the Iranian administration is planning to hit an 8-percent economic growth rate. Iran also made an announcement that it is seeking to annually lure in up to $50 billion worth of foreign investment.
