The statement by the Iranian organization for the protection of consumers and producers as well as the state discretionary punishments body has said that the recent price jump is against the law.

According to the latest weekly report by the Central Bank of Iran, the prices of dairy products have increased by 0.4 percent in the country.

This is while the price of a liter of milk has increased by 11 percent to stand at 30,000 rials (about $0.7 at free market rate).

Iran produced 9.650 million tons of milk over the last fiscal year (started March 20), of which about 8.5 percent was exported in the form of other dairy products.

The country expects to produce about 10 million liters of milk over the current year.
