Iran's fruit & vegetables exports up

In the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Iran's fruit and vegetables exports increased by 54 percent, an official with Iran Trade Development Organization Samira Musapour said, Trend reports via ISNA.

She noted that in the reported period, the total fruit and vegetables exports of the country reached $993 million. Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the exports increased 54 percent in terms of value and 18 percent in terms of weight, she added.

The exports of apples, cucumbers and watermelons increased by 23, 31 and 7.5 percent, respectively, Musapour said.

Compared to the same period of the previous year, Iran's fruit and vegetables exports to Iraq, the UAE and Russia went up by 60, 61 and 136 percent, respectively, she said.

Main exports destinations for Iran's fruit and vegetables are Iraq, the UAE, Russia, Afghanistan, Qatar and Oman.
