Trend:

Iranian government is expected to complete and inaugurates the National Housing Action Plan by the end of its ruling term (June 2021), said Iranian President.

"The construction process of the plan is good and ongoing and we hope to provide housing to low incomes. It is expected that part of housing units that are under construction would be complete and inaugurated by the end of this government ruling term," said Hassan Rouhani, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The government had the capacity to provide land needed for implementation of National Housing Action Plan and the project had good participation from applicants and we hope to deliver housing units to all applicants based on schedule," he added during his meeting with cabinet members.

"The land was provided for construction of 260,000 housing units and the housing plan was well distributed among provinces. It is expected that the housing project will be operated in Sistan and Baluchestan, Kerman and Yazd in coming months," he noted.

Iranian President had officially launched the government’s National Housing Action Plan in August 2019, by inaugurating a project for constructing 110,000 affordable housing units across the country. The National Housing Action Plan aims to construct 400,000 small and medium-size apartments (70-100 square meters in size) across the country and particularly in Tehran, where housing prices have risen most sharply.
