Iran to inaugurate more industrial projects - deputy minister

TEHRAN, Iran, July.2

Trend:

Iran is expected to inaugurate about $2 billion worth of industrial projects in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), said Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade.

The government has inaugurated $3.5 billion industrial projects across the country in the last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), and about $2 billion industrial projects would also be inaugurated in the current Iranian year, said Vajihollah Jaffari, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Inauguration of these industrial projects would generate wealth and liquidity for the country and save foreign currency," he said.

"We plan to sign an agreement with the Ministry of Energy and large power plant industries to provide needed electricity. Investment in the power industry would generate the electricity needed by industries," he noted.

"By increasing industries the need for basic material would also increase and we aim to develop the supply of basic material by discovering new mines and geophysical operations. Another way to supply basic material is discovering new mines with future investments," Jafari added.
