To protect production, for Iran the power supply to cement, steel sectors is the priority, said Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Alireza Razm Hosseini, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Many industrial units faced with power outage and cement and steel industries were damaged the most from lack of electricity supply," said Hosseini.
"The demand in market has not changed and when the supply reduces to less than 30 percent, naturally problems emerge," he said.
Hosseini pointed out that the production in cement, steel sectors has declined, and the main focus should be on energy and electricity supply to these sectors.
"Hopefully with cooperation of Ministry of Energy, this problem would be resolved," he said.
"The current available electricity for these industries is only sufficient for warming furnace. So the disruption of production would lead problems," he said.
