The deadline for political parties to submit their nominations for single-member constituencies and proportional ballots expires today, Tert.am reported.

As of 10 pm local time, only three political forces - the Armenian Communist Party, the Democratic Party of Armenia and the United Armenians - had submitted the lists of their proportional representation nominees to the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Official statements suggest that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has the longest list, with 250 candidates. The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), which unveiled its top 20 list on Wednesday, has around 170 candidates. The other coalition party - Rule of Law - has so far made 15 nominees' names public.

As for the Heritage-Free Democrats alliance, only the candidates listed in the top 25 positions of the joint ballot are known. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D) will represent 75 candidates in the polls. The Democratic Party and the United Armenians have submitted a list of 45 and 29 contenders, respectively.

As regards the majority constituencies, all of them with the exception of one, have submitted their nominations.

The parliamentary election is slated for May 6. The start date of the official campaign is April 8.
