Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) controlling the majority of sits in new Armenian parliament and led by the Armenian president, and Orinats Yerkir party represented in the parliament with 5 percent, signed a new coalition memorandum.

Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) controlling the majority of sits in new Armenian parliament and led by the Armenian president, and Orinats Yerkir party represented in the parliament with 5 percent, signed a new coalition memorandum, News.am reported.

"Based on the May 6, 2012, parliamentary election results, paying importance to continuation of political cooperation signed in March 21, 2008, focusing efforts on solving the problems in the state through innovative approaches, guarantying Armenia's steady and progressive development, domestic, public and social activity and reinforcing solidarity, the political parties, represented in the parliament and signed beneath, form a political coalition. It will take the responsibility for Armenia's political, economic and social development," the memorandum reads.

To note, the previous coalition featured three political powers, the RPA, Orinats Yerkir and Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP). However, after the parliamentary elections the PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan declared that the party does not see it appropriate to form coalition.
