Georgian Pardon Commission Recommend President to pardon Journalists

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Pardon Commission at the Georgian Presidential Administration has appealed the President with a request to release 100 people.

David Bakradze, a member of the commission, stated to the journalists that there are two journalists among the prisoners, Shalva Ramishvili and Tamaz Bakuradze.

"Although, Ramishvili did not appeal for pardoning himself, we have asked the President to pardon him," Bkradze said.

Ramishvili was arrested and sentenced to 4 years and six months of the imprisonment because he blackmailed MP Koba Bekauri for $100,000.

Bakuradze was charged with misappropriation of the funds from Ajaria TV, where he was the head.

There are women and children among the prisoners for pardoning.
