Georgia, Tbilisi, May 18 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
Member of the Georgian parliament Gia Tsagareishvili begins impeachment of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. Impeachment of Saakashvili should be declared in connection with the so-called simulated chronicle broadcasted by TV Imedi, Tsagareishvili said.
Georgian TV company Imedi reported about the alleged war and Russian tanks in Tbilisi. It was also reported that President Mikheil Saakashvili was killed, and a part of the pro-Russian opposition supported the invasion. TV show caused panic among the population of Georgia. General Director of TV channel Giorgi Arveladze held some high-ranking positions before.
Tsagareishvili submitted a report from British expert company "GPW", which examined the phone records of representatives of television channels, which were published after the airing of the scandalous reportage. This conclusion confirms that the president was personally involved in the preparation of the simulated Chronicles, which caused mass panic. It is direct violation of both the Constitution and the Penal Code, " he said.
