The local elections in Georgia held May 30 showed the progress of the country, the U.S. Congressional subcommittee on Georgia said in its letter.

The letter sent by the U.S. Congressmen reflects the opinion of the members of the subcommittee headed by Congressman Allyson Schwartz in connection with the elections held in Georgia, the Georgian Parliament said.

The elections in Georgia were held "in accordance with all international standards," the letter says.

"The elections were held in an organized way, professionally and transparently. We are pleased with the efforts of the CEC on organization of the elections and achieving transparency in their work, as well as willingness to timely resolve the problems," the letter says.
