The UN Secretary-General and Georgian Foreign Minister discussed regional security issues in New York, Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend.

Ban Ki-moon and Grigol Vashadze discussed urgent issues for Georgia, in particular, the prospects of cooperation development between Georgia and the United Nations.

The Georgian side touched upon the issue of enhancing the UN role in Georgia's security and addressing the problem of territorial integrity.

The sides also discussed course of the Geneva talks, stressing the need for intensifying them.
