Ex-chief of Georgian Border Police returns to country after amnesty

Ex-chief of the Georgian Border Police, husband of the leader of "Democratic Movement - United Georgia" Nino Burjanadze, Badri Bitsadze returned to Georgia.

As the part told Trend, Bitsadze arrived in Tbilisi this morning on a flight from Munich.

Earlier, Georgian Parliament gave the status of politically persecuted person to ex-chief of Border Police Badri Bitsadze. He was later pardoned by the Tbilisi City Court.

Badri Bitsadze left Georgia after the events of May 26, 2011. Bitsadze was charged with resisting police. The charge was brought against him in absentia.

Bitsadze was expected to return to Georgia on Friday morning, but his flight delayed due to bad weather in Germany.
