A concrete deadline has been set for the Georgian president to appoint persons to the diplomatic service. He will have two weeks. The relevant amendments are made to the law "On the diplomatic service."
The draft law was initiated by the Foreign Ministry of Georgia. It has already been submitted to the Parliament.
The president will appoint heads of diplomatic missions with the consent of Parliament. However, the current legislation does not set concrete deadline for the president to do it. Following the amendments to the law, the President will be required to sign a decree to appoint ambassadors within two weeks.
