Georgian Interior Ministry starts investigation of Tbilisi unrest

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia started investigation of the unrest that took place in Tbilisi on Friday.

On Friday, a crowd of thousands of people consisting of clerics and parishioners dispersed the police and the action of dozens of LGBT advocates on Rustaveli Avenue, timed to coincide with the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia.

T Head of Public Relations Departement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia Nino Giorgobiani old journalists on Saturday the police immediately responded to the events and started investigation against some persons.

28 people were injured as a result of the unrest in Tbilisi and taken to Ingorokva hospital.

By Saturday morning only two injured were still at the hospital, and the rest had already been discharged.
