Former Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and leader of the "Democratic Movement - United Georgia" Nino Burjanadze will take part in the presidential election to avoid monopolization of power in the hands of a single force, the leader of the Democratic Movement announced at a press conference on Thursday.
According to her, the country is currently at a very important stage of development, at a stage when making right and balanced decisions is of vital importance.
"In this situation, any government, especially the one that has faced very serious problems following the leadership by the National Movement needs constant monitoring by the public and other political forces, as the public can not control the leadership, when all the power is monopolized in the hands of the one political force," Burjanadze said.
