PACE refuses to consider the ‘Georgia issue’

Georgia, Tbilisi, June 24 / Trend, N. Kirtzkhalia /

The CE Parliamentary Assembly has refused to discuss the situation in Georgia. This decision was made by PACE. It was supported by 58 votes. Around 73 members were against it.

The MEPs refused to consider the Georgia issue and decided that the appeals of the Georgian President and Prime Minister are enough.

Representatives of the parliamentary minority insisted on discussing this issue, because they believe that the situation before the presidential elections to be held in October, is strained and there are not equal conditions for all candidates' participation.

The discussion of a "Georgian issue" was envisaged by the agenda of the PACE session this week.
