Head of Georgian President's Administration Andro Barnov urges the authorities, in particular the Minister of Internal Affairs Irakli Garibashvili, to disclose information about the investigation of the threats, spread on the Internet on behalf of Taliban.

"The emotion in these video clips is aimed at discrediting the President and the United National Movement party. We have repeatedly urged the ministry to initiate an investigation and have appealed to international partners to help us in this issue. The Interior Ministry has received assistance in the technical part of the investigation, but it states that there are no concrete facts. After this we do not hear anything from the ministry. It creates an impression as if the ministry is trying to hush up the matter," Barnov said.

According to Barnov, the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not distribute information about the investigation, so what is happening in this regard is not known, and if anything happens at all.

The President's Administration urges the Interior Ministry to disclose the information about the specific results of the investigation.

A video in English with threats to Georgia because of involvement of its troops in military operations in Afghanistan was placed on behalf of Taliban on June 5 on YouTube video portal and caused a strong reaction in the country.
