Georgia granted European perspective reasonably, PM says

Georgia received a European perspective reasonably from the European Council, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili during the briefing, adding that Europe opened the door for Georgia to join the EU, Trend reports citing 1tv.

“This is a recognition of our people’s aspirations for European ideals, their commitment, our determination, integrity, our struggle and the result of our government’s 10-year work,” Garibashvili said.

According to the PM, the promise that Georgia will receive EU candidate status as soon as it addresses the defined priorities gives the motivation to the government to meet the necessary requirements.

Irakli Garibashvili says the ruling team is ready for constructive dialogue to continue the country’s peaceful development and building. He calls for an end to polarization between political opponents.

“I would like to state optimistically once again that I believe they will put their own ambitions and desires, their personal goals below the interests of the country because the main thing for us is the future of our state, our country and then our party and personal interests,” he said.
