Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi condemned Thursday the violent reactions to a video defaming Islam that led to attacks on the US embassy in Cairo and consulate in Benghazi, dpa repoted.
"In Egypt as you know, and everywhere in the Arab world, there is anger regarding ... those who made a small movie that defames the prophet," Morsi told reporters in Brussels.
"We strongly condemn that and we stand strongly against all those who launch such slogans, who launch such provocations, who stand behind that hatred," he said.
"We assured (US) President (Barack) Obama that we will ... not permit any such events in our country against the embassies present on our territories."
