(dpa) - Palestinian gunmen killed three Israeli soldiers in a morning gunfight inside the Gaza Strip, close to the border with Israel, the Israeli military announced early Wednesday afternoon.
A military spokesman in Tel Aviv said soldiers had spotted the force moving toward the Gaza border fence, just south of the Nahal Oz crossing point in the northern strip, east of the Jebaliya refugee camp.
The three Israeli soldiers were killed in the ensuing firefight, the spokesman said.
