A rocket fired toward Tel Aviv from the Gaza Strip late Sunday was intercepted and destroyed by the Iron Dome anti-missile defence system, the Israeli military said, DPA reported.
There was no immediate word of any casualties or damage.
It was the fifth missile in four days to be aimed at Tel Aviv, and the second Sunday. None of the missiles succeeded in landing in the densely-populated metropolis.
