( dpa ) - French ex-president Jacques Chirac successfully underwent an operation Friday to receive a heart pacemaker, his office said in Paris.
Chirac, 75, was expected to leave hospital already this weekend, the office said. Media reports said earlier that the decision to operate was taken at short notice after a routine check-up.
