India on Tuesday condemned the raid by Israeli commandos on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza, stressing that peace in the region could be achieved only through peaceful dialogue, DPA reported.
"India deplores the tragic loss of life and reports of killings and injuries to people on boats carrying supplies for Gaza," said a statement issued by the External Affairs Ministry.
"There can be no justification for such indiscriminate use of force, which we condemn."
"It is our firm conviction that lasting peace and security in the region can be achieved only through peaceful dialogue and not through use of force," the statement added.
