British Prime Minister David Cameron arrived Thursday for an unannounced visit to the Afghan capital, DPA reported.

In a press conference with President Hamid Karzai, Cameron said Afghanistan was the British government's "most important foreign policy," the BBC reported.

Cameron also announced 67 million pounds (98 million dollars) in extra funding for the Afghan army, police and civil administration and also to fight roadside bombs.

He added that relations between Afghanistan and Britain were "very, very important."
