Three rockets fired into Afghan capital

Three rockets were fired into Afghanistan's capital early Tuesday but no casualties were reported, an official said.

Two projectiles landed in a neighbourhood where the National Olympic Committee and a private television station are located, city police chief General Ayub Salangi said.

A third rocket hit a residential area in the east of the city, dpa reported.

The weapons were fired from Deh Sabz district just outside Kabul, police said.

No one took responsibility for the attack.

It was the first attack in Kabul since September when a suicide car bomber targeted foreign workers, killing at least eight South Africans and four Afghan civilians.
