Edward Snowden has filed an asylum application with Russia, a lawyer who took up the US whistleblower's case said, dpa reported.
"Snowden filled out all necessary forms, wrote an application and handed it to an migration service officer who came specially to (Sheremetyevo) airport," the lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena told the Interfax news agency.
