In September 2019, a total of almost five million tons of fuel oil were transported through Turkey's ports, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, in September, 307,583 tons of fuel oil were transported through Turkish ports.
During the reported month, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 179,129 tons of fuel oil, ships flying the flag of their country of origin carried 514,774 tons, while ships flying flags of other countries transported almost 3.3 million tons of fuel oil.
In September, most of the transit cargo through the Turkish ports was transported from Italy, China, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Egypt, Greece and France.
The total volume of transit transshipment through the Turkish ports amounted to nearly 56 million tons in September this year.
