Export of Turkish cars to world markets down since early 2020

Turkey's export of cars to international markets dropped by 28.7 percent from January through July 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, surpassing $12.9 billion, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend.
The ministry said that Turkey’s car export accounted for 14.4 percent of the country’s total export for the reporting period.
In July 2020, Turkey exported cars worth over $2.2 billion to foreign markets, which is 24.1 percent less compared to July 2019, notes the ministry.
Meanwhile, Turkey export of cars accounted for 14.7 percent of the country's total export.
Over the past 12 months (from July 2019 through July 2020), Turkey exported cars worth over $25.3 billion abroad.
