Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev took part on June 27 in the ceremony of awarding the winners of the men's 60 kg boxing event at the Baku 2015 European Games.
Azerbaijani boxer Albert Selimov captured the gold medal, defeating his opponent from Italy, Sofiane Oumiha, who settled for the silver medal.
Azerbaijani boxer Parviz Bagirov captured the gold medal, defeating his opponent from Russia, Alexander Besputin, who settled for the silver medal.
Azerbaijani boxer Abdulkadir Abdullayev captured the gold medal, defeating his opponent from Ukraine, Gevorg Manukian. Boxer has gained a victory due to refusal of entering the ring by reason of injury of Ukrainian representative.
The European Games that kicked off June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
