Azerbaijan's political and economic achievements, its achievements in foreign and domestic policy, create a solid foundation for development of all spheres, including army building, Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov said.
The minister made the statement at the meeting with the first graduates of training courses of deputy commanders of the units working with personnel held at the training center of the Armed Forces, the Defense Ministry said on August 30.
In his speech, Hasanov spoke about the latest changes in the army, the further challenges in the battle, the moral and psychological training of personnel of the Armed Forces, according to the statement.
"Every serviceman must put a sense of patriotism, loyalty to the Supreme Commander of Azerbaijani Armed Forces, the motherland, the people of the country above everything else," Hasanov said.
"Today the country's leadership, the president of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev care and pay a lot of attention to the army. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces are provided with modern weapons and military equipment. The extensive work is carried out to improve the social conditions of the servicemen. Everyone must know that our main task today is the mobilization of armed forces' personnel to perform the most important task, namely, liberation of occupied Azerbaijani lands," Hasanov noted.
The minister went on to add that the most modern methods must be used in the training process of soldiers.
Hasanov said that it is necessary to pay much attention to the activity at the sub-division level to enhance the combat capability of the personnel.
"Every officer must be exemplary for personnel by his knowledge in the military sphere, behavior and moral qualities," he added. "The servicemen showing courage are exemplary for all."
