Georgian Prime Minister discussed bilateral relations with his Japanese counterpart. Meeting of Nika Gilauri with Yoshihiko Noda was held in Tokyo in the frame of an official visit of Georgian Prime Minister to Japan.

Georgian Prime Minister discussed bilateral relations with his Japanese counterpart. Meeting of Nika Gilauri with Yoshihiko Noda was held in Tokyo in the frame of an official visit of Georgian Prime Minister to Japan.

The conversation was held around the political and economic issues, Gilauri told georgian journalists after the meeting.

"Japan strongly supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and supports it in all international organizations. So the political issue was discussed on the background of friendship and goodwill. Official Tokyo will continue to pursue a policy of non-recognition of the breakaway regions of Georgia and will support our country in various international organizations" the Prime Minister of Georgia said.

He also expressed satisfaction with the negotiations in the economic sphere. "Basically, we discussed cooperation, and Japanese investment in Georgia, especially in the sphere of energy, transport and tourism. Some agreements have been reached," he said

Gilauri will participate in the Georgian-Japanese business forum on friday, where he will present investment opportunities of Georgia.

Gilauri will also visit several Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi.
