A mine clearing project worth 52 million euros will be implemented in the eastern provinces of Turkey, Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.
The project will be financed by the Turkish government and the European Commission. Within the project additional training of military personnel, who serve in the provinces of Van, Agri and Kars, will be held. In addition, equipment will be provided for mine clearing in these provinces.
According to the Agency, 39.4 million euros of the total amount allocated for the project will be provided by the European Union, the remaining 13 million euros will be allocated from Turkish government's budget.
