GAZEXPORT SUSPENDS GAS DELIVERY TO AZERBAIJAN

On Wednesday at 02.00 a.m. Gazexport Llc., a daughter company of Gazprom Joint-Stock Company (JSC), suspended gas delivery to Azerbaijan due to breakdown on the section of the Mozdok-Gazimahommad gas pipeline running via the territory of Dagestan, Russia.

12 million cu m of gas a day was imported to Azerbaijan, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend.

In January to June 2005 Azerbaijan received from Gazexport Llc. 2.6 billion cu m of gas, or 99 million cu m less than 2004. In June 367.1 million cu m of gas was supplied to Azerbaijan, which was 71.1 million cu m down than 2004.

The SOCAR plans to import around 6 billion cu m of natural gas from Gazprom this year through the Shirvanovka - Gazi-Magomed gas pipeline.
