New director general appointed at Uzbek national communication company

According to a decision of the supervisory board of the Uzbek national communication operator Uzbektelecom, Abdurashid Abdumuminov was appointed as director general, the State Committee for Communication, Information and Telecommunication Technologies told Trend today.

Previiously, Abdumuminov was a director of the branch of the Tashkent city telephone network company Uzbektelecom.

Makhsum Makhmudov has been Uzbektelecom's formed head since 2010. He has been appointed as the first deputy chairman of the Uzbek State Committee for Communications, Information and Telecommunication Technologies in October 2012.

The Uzbektelecom Company is the largest telecommunication operator. Its network covers the whole of Uzbek.

Uzbektelecom includes 22 branches, including 14 regional and five specialised and two subsidiaries. The company's authorised capital has been formed to the amount of 37.7 billion sums at the expense of property for 22 branches, three subsidiaries and shares in eight joint ventures. The state has a 94 per cent stake, a labour group has 5.8 per cent, other shareholders hold 0.2 per cent in the structure of the authorised capital.
