The retail price of diesel fuel has been increased in Uzbekistan under a decree by the country's cabinet of ministers.
The retail price of one liter of diesel fuel was increased by 11.7 percent up to 1,910 soums, the EcoDiesel fuel by 11.5 percent up to 1,990 per liter, according to the decree published on Monday.
Under the government decree, the Uzneftprodukt Joint Stock Company and its regional enterprises, as well as, economic entities selling diesel fuel at the filling stations, were instructed to reassess the residual diesel fuel at the filling stations as of July 1, 2014. The revaluation surplus is fully included into the state budget revenues.
The previous price of 1,710 soums per one liter of diesel and 1,785 soums per one liter of EcoDiesel fuel were set in Uzbekistan on January 9, 2014.
Most of the freight transport, a part of passenger transport, particularly Mercedes-Benz Conecto Low Floor buses, run on the diesel fuel in Uzbekistan.
Currently, over 1,000 Mercedes-Benz buses are being operated in Tashkent.
Starting from July 1, the Toshshahartransxizmat Association (Tashkent City Transport Service) increased the price for using the urban passenger transport by 25 percent up to 1,000 soums per trip.
