Cost prices in Azerbaijan’s mining industry drop by almost a quarter

The index of cost prices for industrial products in Azerbaijan dropped by 20.9 percent in January 2015, compared to December 2014, the country's State Statistical Committee said in its report on January.

The cost prices in the country's mining and processing industry fell by 24 percent and 5.3 percent, respectively during the reporting period, according to the committee.

The cost prices in the production of stone, sand, salt and crushed stone remained at the same level in January. The cost prices in the iron ore production increased by 1.4 percent, while the cost prices in oil and gas production decreased by 24.1 percent.

The cost prices in the sphere of production of petroleum products in January fell by 8.8 percent, wood processing and production of wood products - increased by 0.1 percent, food production - fell by 3.9 percent, metallurgical industry - rose by 1.5 percent, production of rubber and plastic products - fell by 0.9 percent, construction materials - 0.3 percent and chemical industry - 9.4 percent.

During the reporting period, the cost prices in spinning production increased by 3 percent, while these prices in the production of clothing fell by 0.1 percent.

No changes have been recorded during the reporting period in the prices for production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, water supply and waste treatment.
