Loan dollarization decreases in Azerbaijani districts

The loans given to the population in Azerbaijan's districts totaled 3.2 billion manat as of February 2016, or 15.7 percent of the banks' total loan portfolio and 5.9 percent less than in the same period of 2015, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.

As of April 12, the official exchange rate is 1.5269 AZN/USD.

Some 33.44 percent or 1.07 billion manat of this amount issued to the population in the country's districts accounted for the foreign currency.
For comparison: some 34.74 percent accounted for the loans in foreign currency last month.

The loans worth 17.13 billion manat were delivered in Baku. Here the loans in national currency (manat) amounted to 7.96 billion manat.

For comparison, Baku granted loans amounting to 17.3 billion manat in February 2015. Some 9.8 billion manat accounted for the loans in national currency.

The average interest rate on loans throughout the country was 12.9 percent in February 2016, while in Baku this index stood at 11.5 percent.

The lending volume in the Absheron economic district totaled 659.4 million manat at an average rate of 17.7 percent.

In other economic districts the lending index was as follows: Aran - 832.14 million manat at a rate of 22.2 percent, Mountainous Shirvan - 117.24 million manat at a rate of 22.1 percent, Ganja-Gazakh - 658.63 million manat at a rate of 20.6 percent, Guba-Khachmaz - 235.85 million manat at a rate of 21.1 percent, Lankaran - 293 million manat at a rate of 22.7 percent, Shaki-Zagatala - 219.84 million manat at a rate of 21.6 percent, the Upper Karabakh - 55.7 million manat at a rate of 19.5 percent, Kalbajar-Lachin - 2.1 million manat at a rate of 14.6 percent, Nakhchivan - 121.5 million manat at a rate of 13.5 percent.
