The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 560,940 tons of oil from the Georgian port of Supsa in January-February 2013 compared to 476,740 tons in January-February 2012, SOCAR said on Monday.

About 318,600 tons of oil was exported from Supsa in February compared to 161,490 tons in February 2012.

SOCAR exported 2.74 million tons of oil from the Georgian port of Supsa in 2012 compared to 2.65 million tons of oil in 2011.

Oil is delivered to Supsa via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline.

SOCAR exported 2.84 million tons of Azeri Light crude oil extracted from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field in 2010 compared to 2.79 million tons in 2009.

The company did not transport oil in this direction in 2007 due to repairs on the pipeline, which launched in November 2006. The pipeline was filled with oil in mid-2008, but was suspended due to the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict. Oil transportation was restored in early November 2008.

BP is the operator of the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
