Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev named the first Kazakh dry cargo ships floated in Aktau port.
"This is a very important event in the life of our country. The dry cargo ship issue was important for us. We floated the Kazakh dry cargo ships. Congratulations on this event! In general, naming is a very difficult job, it is a big responsibility, but we want to emphasize our Kazakh brands in the sea. If there is no objection, one cargo ship will be named "Turkestan", and the second - "Beket ata"," the president said during a videoconference dedicated to the Day of Industrialization.
Earlier a captain of one of the dry cargo ships Mikhail Yalbichev said at a videoconference Aktau sea port is a cargo-port in the Caspian Sea, where extensive work is underway to increase its capacity.
"In order to increase the trans-Caspian transit capital of Kazakhstan, Temir Zholy JSC a company was established, two universal vessels with carrying capacity of 5,000 tons each were purchased, which will operate under the flag of Kazakhstan," Yalbichev said.
