USD sold at 25,901 rials at Iran’s forex center

US dollar was sold at the price of 25,901 rials at Iran's forex center on July 13.

Euro was also presented at the price of 35,244 rials, while British pound was traded at 44,327 rials, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on July 13.

Euro, British pound and US dollar were traded at the same prices on Saturday.

US dollar was also sold at the price of 31,170 rials at the free market on July 13, while Euro and British pound were presented at the price of 42,500, and 53,250 rials, respectively.

The foreign exchange center was officially inaugurated on September 24, 2012.

The center allows importers of goods including truck tires, construction equipment and synthetic fibers to buy dollars at a rate 2 percent cheaper than the street rate at any given time.

According to the center's spokesman Samad Karimi, Iran's forex center has the capacity to trade over 100 million dollars each working day.
