Iranian companies implement 15 water and power projects in Iraq

Iranian companies have implemented 15 water and power projects in Iraq, the Mehr News agency quoted Bahram Nezamolmaleki, an official at the Iranian minister of energy, as saying on March 9.

He added that more than one billion dollars worth of technical and engineering services have been exported so far in the current Iranian calendar year, which ends on March 20.

At present, 45 Iranian companies conduct technical and engineering projects overseas, he said, adding that diversifying export markets in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia is on the agenda.

Head of the Association of Iranian Exporters of Technical and Engineering Services, Mohammad Reza Ansari said on Oct. 22 that Iran totally exported $2.3 billion worth of technical, engineering services in the previous calendar year, the ILNA News Agency reported.

"Iran exported $4.2 billion worth of technical and engineering services in the Iranian calendar year of 1390 (ended on March 20, 2012), but the figure decreased in the previous year," he said.

"Iran has the capacity to export $20 billion worth of technical and engineering services," Ansari added.

"Iran can reach the goal of exporting $20 billion worth of technical and engineering services in five years," he said.

Ansari said in February that over 14,000 Iranians are working in foreign countries.
