Kazakhstan, China to create JV for complex coal processing

Kazakhstan and China intend to create a joint venture (JV) for the complex coal processing.

An agreement on the implementation of the project for complex coal processing in Kazakhstan was signed following the meeting of Kazakhstan-China Business Council.

An agreement between Kazakhstan's KazMunaiGas - Processing and Marketing JSC, China Kingho Energy Group, Arbat JV LLP and Razrez Kuznetskiy LLP was signed for developing a modern coal chemical industry in Kazakhstan, Samruk-Kazyna National Holding JSC said.

This agreement also envisages the establishment of production of diesel fuel, synthetic natural gas and other petrochemical products, according to Samruk-Kazyna JSC.

Under the agreement, in order to implement the project, the sides intend to create a JV that will be engaged in investing, designing, construction and operation of the abovementioned facility, said the company.

Kazakhstan-China Business Council was created in accordance with the instruction of the two countries' presidents in 2013. It is aimed at stimulating the trade and economic collaboration, promotion and development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in various sectors of economy.

The inauguration meeting of the Business Council was held on September 7, 2013.
