Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who paid an official visit to Kazakhstan, discussed the ways of strengthening the cooperation in trade-economic sphere, the coal industry, transport and logistics area and the agro-industrial complex, the press-service of the Kazakh president said Oct. 9.
Moreover, the presidents exchanged views on relevant issues of the international agenda, including the situation in the southeast of Ukraine and the course of implementing the Minsk agreements.
President Nazarbayev welcomed his counterpart Poroshenko's first official visit to Kazakhstan, which will help improve the economic cooperation and consider regional and international issues, the statement said.
President Poroshenko stressed the numerous political, economic, cultural-humanitarian and social ties between the two countries.
President Poroshenko stressed the interest in intensifying the all-round cooperation between the two countries in various fields and appreciated President Nazarbayev's efforts to assist in maintaining peace in Ukraine.
President Poroshenko also congratulated his counterpart Nazarbayev on the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, stressing the importance of this anniversary, which is a symbol of statehood, deep historical roots of the country.
