The Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts Turkmenistan’s GDP growth at 6.5 percent in 2017.
According to the bank’s report, titled “Asian Development Outlook 2017: Transcending the Middle-Income Challenge”, the GDP growth is “projected to return to 6.5 percent in 2017 and accelerate to 7 percent in 2018, with some rise in inflation and a narrower current account deficit as prices for hydrocarbons improve”.
GDP growth moderated to 6.2 percent in Turkmenistan in 2016, says the report.
Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of the volume of natural gas reserves, according to BP.
