Iran and Belarus will hold their 12th joint economic commission in March.

In a meeting between Iranian Industry, Mines, and Trade minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey in Tehran, the two sides called for boosting bilateral ties in economic, commercial, and industrial sectors, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on Dec. 28.

During the meeting, Nematzadeh said the joint economic commission will be held with the goal of finding ways to expand bilateral trade.

Iran is ready to boost cooperation with Belarus in technical and engineering projects as well as stock exchange, he added.

In 2010, Iran inaugurated a large copper wire factory and the second phase of the Samand car assembly line in Belarus.

Major exports of Belarus to Iran include potash fertilizers, synthetic fibers and synthetic fiber cords, while it imports cars, grape, automobile spare parts and tractors from Iran.
